1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. In a medium pan or skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and drain the excess fat.
3. Add the taco seasoning and water and stir until well combined. Bring to a boil then reduce to a low simmer, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid has evaporated.
4. While the meat is simmering, prepare the sauce by blending the diced tomatoes, cream of chicken soup, and green chilis until smooth.
5. Spray a 9x9 square baking dish with cooking spray. Pour about a 1/4 cup of the blended sauce into the dish and spread it out to cover the bottom. Place down a single layer of 4 corn tortillas in the sauce.
6. Spread the beef mixture evenly on top of the tortillas, sprinkle with 1/3 of the shredded cheese, then cover this with another layer of tortillas.
7. Pour and spread the ranch style beans and their juice evenly over the tortillas. Sprinkle with another 1/3 of the shredded cheese and cover this with the last 4 tortillas.
8. Cut the Velveeta into 9 thin slices and layer them on the top layer of tortillas.
9. Pour the blended sauce over the top and use a spatula to help it run down the edges of the dish. Make sure the sauce is well distributed all around the dish and down the edges. Sprinkle with the remaining shredded cheese.
10. Bake at 350F for about 35-40 minutes or until the cheese on top is bubbly and starting to brown.
11. Let rest for at least 15 minutes before cutting and serving.
12. Enjoy!
